Closing of a chapter

March 2014 – November 2019

The past 5-and-a-half years have been very special to me. During those years, I got to meet hundreds of amazing people, got to connect and form friendships, got to see families form, and I got to play my tiny, sweet role on your special day. Without your support, there would have been no Quokka Cakes, so I would love to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support.

Quokka Cakes was born out of necessity, as, back in the day, members of our small vegan community had to DIY in order to have their cake and eat it, too. There were no cooking schools, no prominent vegan patisserie chefs, and no vegan cakes on supermarket shelves. But look how times change! Many people are working hard to make our common dream of a kinder world a reality.

Quokka Cakes always gave back to the community, over the years providing constant support to local animal sanctuaries, rescue organisations, charities and other worthy causes.

Quokka Cakes supplied fresh bakes to vegan businesses like Roark & Co., Heaven's Raw Cafe, Loving Hut, La Vida Vegan, The Leaf... and to local stores. For the first half of this year, we had a shop front. And, for past few months, we have been supplying you with our Frozen Chocolate Cake – a delicious convenience, available at over 20 locations. Not to mention all the decorated and unique celebration cakes for any occasion you might have had over the years.

Quokka Cakes decorated cakes took second prize at the Perth Royal Show four years in a row! And I kept all the hand-written thank you notes I received from you guys!

I have worked tirelessly over the past years, starting with $0 initial capital and ending up working out of a commercial kitchen built together with Noshing.au; from a new person in town to a recognisable person within (and without) the community. It was hard; it was fun; it was challenging and satisfying, scary and exciting. And I thank you for being there with me on this ride!

Now it's time for me to turn over a new leaf, and to pursue a new goal wholeheartedly, as I have done with Quokka Cakes.
